November 23, 2004 is a special day for Delhi. She has been at the Sanctuary for one full year —
and what a difference a year makes! Warm wishes from several of her friends can be seen below.

Symphony in D

Soft music only she can hear
laying stretched out on the ground.
The heart beat of Mother Earth
and nature's sound all around.

Her symphony is born of freedom
and joy in the Tennessee sun.
Sweet dreams filled with loving family
so precious now, each and every one.

Her trunk slowly swaying and dancing
she conducts her own special songs.
In deep peaceful sleep our dear Delhi,
knows here is where she truly belongs.

In one year, Delhi, you have become a beacon of light and hope for the ones waiting to come home. Happy 1st anniversary.

MAY YOU FIND A MUD WALLOW OVER EVERY HILL AND MAY THE SUN BLESS YOU IN IT.  AND MAY YOUR TOYS ALWAYS BE WITHIN REACH.

Delhi, you are my inspiration. You've been through so much, yet you are so at peace with yourself and a teacher to us all, while making sure we know you are a rascal. I have a picture of you over my desk here at work, you sleeping like a baby surrounded by your toys, when you first arrived at TES. I look to you for inspiration for being in the moment and for being able to give the best of myself however I can manage it.

Today is a very special day, it is your 1st Anniversary at TES, and also a celebration of your freedom. I enjoyed watching you in the video, as you explored through the pastures and forest of your new home. You look really happy!
