Following the tragic accident that claimed Joanna’s life, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, the United States Department of Agriculture, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and Workman’s Compensation all conducted their own independent investigation. Each agency reported the Sanctuary to be in full compliance with all regulations. Joanna’s death has been officially determined to be an accident.
