When the power goes out at the Sanctuary, as it often does over the winter months, the generator Celine has underwritten will automatically turn on, generating energy to keep the elephant barn safe and warm. Instead of having friends bring presents to his party he asked his friends and family to instead donate money in his honor to help the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary. As result of his selfless efforts, Liam raised more than $350 which he donated to feed the elephants at the Sanctuary. Third Grade Classrooms Shettler Elementary Muskegon, MI		May 2002 — Three third grade classes at the Shettler Elementary School in Muskegon, MI held a fundraiser for the Elephant Sanctuary (they wrote and sold a cookbook). The elephants consider the grape vines a delicacy. The grape vines are put inside the barn for the elephants and when they return at sunset their delight vibrates throughout the barn with trumpets, chirps and squeaks.
