Fundraising and Awareness

We are grateful for all our volunteers who donate their time and effort to raise awareness for the mission of the Sanctuary. The following photos are from some of the events held in 2006. If you would like to volunteer to help with a fundraiser or an awareness event, please email Jill@Elephants.Com.

On September 9, 2006, The Elephant Santuary once again participated in the Grinders Switch Music & Arts Festival in Centerville, TN by hosting a booth. This annual event, held in the downtown square of Centerville, is sponsored by the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce. We had an interesting set-up for the booth. The booth was positioned so people passed on 2 sides (front and back) of the booth. You can see the two views in the photos. It really kept it interesting when we had people on both sides talking about The Elephant Sanctuary. Many people stopped at our booth and we sold a lot of merchandise and gave out newsletters. Rain prompted an earlier-than-anticipated shut down, but not before lots of people found out more about the Sanctuary!

Belle Forest Animal Hospital held its third annual Yard Sale on Saturday, June 17, 2006 with ALL proceeds benefiting The Elephant Sanctuary!! We had many repeat buyers who now watch for this event. The yard sale items were donated by clients of Belle Forest Animal Hospital and Elephant Sanctuary supporters. The event was manned by Belle Forest Vet Hospital emloyees along with Sanctuary volunteers. This year's proceeds set a record - over $2800 was raised!! Next year's event will probably be in September to avoid summer heat...hope to see you there! (Keep an eye on the What's New page, we'll remind you.)

Dickson County's Old Timers Day was held May 6. The Elephant Sanctuary's information booth was well received. Many people who stopped by the booth knew that there is an Elephant Sanctury.
