Art & Craft Show, Factory at Franklin, TN, .

Sponsored by Health & Wellness Magazine and the Factory. The Sanctuary's booth was set up on the 19th and 20th. There was also a silent auction, as well music and children's art projects on Saturday. The baskets that can be seen on some of the tables were part of the silent auction. Some of the photos show that the building was originally part of a factory complex, where stoves and other items were manufactured.

Grinder's Switch Music & Arts Festival—Centerville, TN.
This annual festival is sponsored by the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce and the Sanctuary has a booth there every year. This year we were in a very prominent location in the city square - very close to the Minnie Pearl statue and also very close to the stage. In at least one of the photos the audience can be seen sitting in front of and behind the statue.

Lighting Up the Cumberland— Cumberland City in Stewart County (about 70 miles northwest of Nashville) celebrates the Lighting Up the Cumberland festival every year on the Saturday closest to July 4th. There's a parade and a festival, followed at dusk by a wonderful fireworks display on the Cumberland River. This was the first time the Sanctuary has had a booth there. Sanctuary volunteers Barbara Clarke, Diane Heise, and Rosanne Sietins staffed the booth.

Irish Festival in Erin, Tennessee
"Leprechauns, Shamrocks, and all we adore— Celebrating Irish Day with Friends galore!"

Cradled in the heart of Tennessee's natural wonder and magical charm, Houston County is nestled quietly in a range of hills and valleys, unequaled in beauty by any part of the highland rim portion of the state. According to legend, the name Erin was given to this small community by Irish railroad workers who were reminded of the valleys, hills, hollows, and meadows of their homeland, Ireland. One night, the workers took a 'wee nip too much' and let out the ancient rallying cry, “Erin Go Bragh”.

The Elephant Sanctuary was represented at the 45th Annual Celebration of the Wearin' of the Green Irish Day Parade & Arts and Crafts Festival in Erin, TN on March 17th. This is the first time we worked an event with gloves on, but the cold weather did not dampen the spirits of the many people who came.
