Middle Tennessee really loves old dogs and elephants.
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee held its annual The Big Payback Wednesday, raising nearly $2.6 million for area nonprofits, according to the organization’s preliminary numbers. The Big Payback is a 24-hour, online fundraiser that allows area residents to choose from a list of registered area nonprofits, including educational, religious and social organizations.
Ranked by number of donations, organizations caring for pets, senior dogs and elephants made up four of the top five most benefitted organizations.
