Victory! Rochester bans wild animal performances
Minnesota, February 2, 2021- Last night the Rochester City Council voted unanimously in support of a resolution prohibiting wild and exotic animal performances at City-owned facilities. Passed in Minnesota’s third largest city, this policy effectively ends all wild animal acts that tour through Rochester, including Carden Circus, Garden Bros. Circus and the tigers featured in Jay Owenhouse’s magic show. This is a victorious end to a year-long campaign led by Humane Society of the United States' Humane Policy Volunteer Leaders in Rochester.
