Donna's First Tennessee Christmas (Tree)

Donate your Christmas tree to the elephants!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Donna recently experienced her first encounter with one of many donated Christmas trees! Donna's curiosity quickly led her to discover the seasonal delicacy strategically placed by Care Staff. Before indulging, she explored each branch with her trunk, taking in the new smells. With a gentle grasp that quickly transformed into loud snaps of the branches, she plucked the aromatic pine needles, indulging in the tasty tree with audible delight.

Christmas trees are used as engaging enrichment and to supplement the elephants’ winter diets. Until January 20, we are accepting donated trees, clear of tinsel, ornaments and pesticide-free. Trees can be delivered to The Elephant Discovery Center, 27 East Main Street, Hohenwald, TN 38462.

The elephant habitats are closed to the public. Visitors to The Discovery Center will not see or interact with the elephants.
