Sissy was captured in Thailand in 1969. She has quite a long body which is consistent with elephants from her region. Her face and ears are covered with a great deal of natural depigmentation which gives a polka dot effect. Her ears are large with a loose, rippling flap across the top.

Sissy lived alone in a zoo for many years with no friends. She had to be creative and improvise. The tire she carries is not the exact tire she had growing up but it has become an acceptable substitute. Sissy likes to take her tire with her just about everywhere she goes.
