April 26, 1970 - July 21, 2004

Tina was the only one of our elephants that was captive born. She was born April 26, 1970 to wild caught elephants living at the Portland, Oregon Zoo.

Her complexion was fairly dark and she had natural depigmentaton in the center of her forehead. Her tail was hairless and her trunk had quite a bit of built up skin that resembled barnacles. Tina moved slowly due to critically diseased feet; she stepped slowly and gently.
