2026 is in bloom at The Sanctuary! Like the new blossoms of spring, Flora and the 11 additional residents are moving into the year with budding opportunities for exploration and growth. Because of your support, the elephants’ explorable habitat expanded by 137 acres last year, and construction began on a 5,000-square-foot addition to the Redbud Barn, creating more opportunities for indoor socialization and veterinary care.
These advances in elephant care, paired with the understanding that elephants thrive on social connection, ensure that Flora, Tange, Artie, Mikki, Edie, Nosey, Osh, Billie, Debbie, Punch, Ronnie, and Sissy have the opportunity for companionship, the ability to make their own choices, and the space to move and explore.
To support such companionship among the herd, and honor the memory of his dear Michele, generous Sanctuary supporter Dan in Florida has pledged to match up to $40,000 to kick off the Spring Campaign. This means every dollar you give will be doubled in contribution to lifetime elephant care and habitat growth at The Sanctuary.
